Privacy Policy

Kepar keeps the links you share most and copies them for you. It is built so that your links stay yours.

What Kepar collects

Nothing. Kepar has no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no account. The developer never receives your links, folders, notes or any other information about you or how you use the app.

Where your links are stored

• On your devices. Links, folders and notes are stored in Kepar’s database on your Mac, iPhone or iPad.
• In your iCloud account, if you use iCloud. Kepar syncs through your private iCloud database (CloudKit). Apple stores this data on Kepar’s behalf, and only your Apple Account can read it. The developer cannot see it. Apple’s privacy policy applies to iCloud.

When Kepar goes online

When you save a link, Kepar contacts that website to fetch its page title and icon, much as a browser would when you open the page. It also does this when you choose Refresh Title & Icon and after an import. The website sees an ordinary request from your device, including your IP address. Kepar makes no other network requests besides iCloud sync.

Kepar never changes the links you save. Query parameters, such as affiliate codes, are kept exactly as entered.

Spotlight, Siri and widgets

To make links searchable in Spotlight, available to Siri and Shortcuts, and visible in widgets, Kepar gives their titles and addresses to the system on your device. This happens on your device, and you can turn it off in System Settings or Settings.

Import and export

Import and export only read and write the files you choose. Exported files contain your links, folders, notes and icons. Keep them somewhere safe.

This website

This website counts visits with Fathom Analytics, so I can see how many people read it and where they came from. Fathom sets no cookies and doesn’t track you across websites. It records the page you open, the page that linked to it, your browser, device and rough location, and recognises repeat visits on the same day with a signature that is hashed and changes every day; your IP address isn’t stored with the visit. Visits from the EU pass through Fathom’s EU servers and are anonymised before they reach its servers in the US. See Fathom’s data policy for the details.

The website sets no cookies of its own, and its fonts and images come from the same server as the page. Like any web server, the host may keep short-lived request logs, including your IP address, to keep the site running and secure.

Fathom only runs on this website. The Kepar apps have no analytics.

Children

Kepar collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published here with a new date.
